CHURCHES
In 1842, from the original John McCain estate, the Columbia Methodist Church obtained land and a two story stone house. This house stands today on the corner of Decatur and Green Streets. For 132 years this stone house was used as the Columbia Methodist Church Parsonage. Approximately 50 ministers over the years have called this house their home. It is one of the oldest standing buildings in the town of Columbia. In 1974 the Methodist Church sold the parsonage to Robert and Maureen Mooney.
